Rylstone Airpark Celebration of Aviation

The 2019 celebration was an outstanding success by all accounts, helped along by near perfect weather, Rob Loneragan is to be congratulated

Rylstone is a great example of a little-used, run-down council-owned airstrip being aquired by a private owner, and being turned into a vibrant, active aerodrome & airpark, where aircraft owners can buy and build right on the aerodrome.

Check out the website for more information on this event and the great little country aerodrome

Club Calendar

Click on a calendar entry to see further information. By clicking on the drop-down arrow in the top right corner of the calendar, you can select which type of events to display. For example, if you only want to see the social events, uncheck all the other boxes. Cool, hey!

Sorry if this doesn't work. It seems to be platform and browser specific!.

Pilot of The Year - 2019.

lukeRound one of the recreational division has been completed, and as current champ (for the last 3 years!) Luke Kelly won't be competing this year, the field is wide open for a new Pilot of the Year 2019! Luke has been working at the airport as part of the team handling customers, baggage, aircraft loading & marshalling for Rex and Corporate, as well as other charter aircraft.

Meanwhile he's had applications for pilot training with Virgin and Rex, and has recently been offered a position with Rex. He starts training at Wagga Wagga on 17 June.Congratulations and well done Luke!

Unfortunately, there's been little interest in the GA Division over the past few years, but all is not lost! All it takes is half a dozen people to tell the committee they want the comp to continue, and it can be arranged.

As always, the emphasis is on practising some of the basic skills (that we should all do, but often don't!) under the watchful eye of an instructor, who can provide feedback to assist you. The competition aspect is just a bit of fun for those who like it, but definately not the primary reason.

Friday Drinks & Nibbles

drinks nibbles

Drinks & Nibbles are on every Friday from 2.00 pm. Summer or winter, the club is comfortable, and the bar is stocked!

There's often some visitors waiting for a flight, especially when Rex or Corporate are delayed by weather or some other factor.

The last Friday of the month is also BBQ night, and members receive email notification to confirm all the Friday activities a few days beforehand.

Come along and meet other members to swap experiences and join in the fun.
